FABYAN MEDIA STUDIES A LEVELS
2022/2023
ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Fabyan Damsyiq Bin Azhar from BE/AE 3. I would describe myself as the type of person who always looks for something to do which lead to picking up various hobbies. Those hobbies are playing guitar, listening to music, film photography, analog video, designing posters and others.

I chose media studies because this is a subject that I have much passion and curiosity about and I want to improve the execution of anything I create. Furthermore, I also want to push myself into becoming more versatile that if I were to make something of a specific theme whether it be a magazine or a film, I would have no issue coming up with something.

I will be using this website to document my journey and progress of this subject throughout my years here in this school PTES.
PERSONAL WORK
Below I have put in some of my own work that I have done playing with Photoshop in my own free time. Most of these posters I made by coming up with a theme and gathering pictures based on that theme that inspire me and making art from it. Some of these I try to incorporate a meaning to them based on what I felt at the time. I started Photoshop in October 2021 and learned from Youtube tutorials and from my friend Fahmi on Discord calls.

-
The 'love' poster consists of an eye and a hand which is where love starts from, sight and touch [a kinda outdated way of viewing love. Makes for a cool poster though].
-
The 'Manabukoga' poster is a fan poster that consists of my favourite photos from him. He is a fashion designer and a photographer that specializes in underwater fashion.
-
The 'Today is the day' poster is also fan poster of a short film I saw on Youtube that was from an old forum from 2010. It's that kind of film which meaning is so cryptic that no one really knows what it's about. During the making of this poster, asymmetry and imperfection was the main focus to reflect it's somewhat tragic story.
-
The 'conscience upload' poster is made to look like an old computer screen from a sci-fi movie and this poster was practice of how I format things. The baby is like an empty vessel which a conscience was supposed to be uploaded into to fulfill a role in society similar to Kryptonians in Superman lore. In short, artificial babies.
-
The baby poster next to it was my third ever poster. This poster was a result of learning the controls of Photoshop and me discovering my favourite thing ever, BLENDING MODES.
These posters are a good representation of my current ability which I am working to improve with the free-time that I have. You can move on to CIE MEDIA to see the work I've done in this class.
